A Share a Night gift helps families to have a comfortable, safe place to stay while they focus on their sick child’s needs – just down the street from the hospital.

Decades ago, families were sleeping in hospital waiting areas and, in their cars, to be near their hospitalized child. In 1991, the doors to the original 16-bedroom Ronald McDonald House opened and lessened some of the emotional, physical, and financial hardships these families faced, fulfilling our mission of “keeping families close” and providing the care and resources they need when going through the crisis of having a sick child.

Our House is built on the simple idea that nothing else should matter when a family is focused on the health of their child – not where they can afford to stay, where they will get their next meal or where they will lay their head at night to rest. We believe that when a child is hospitalized the love and support of family is as powerful as the strongest medicine prescribed.

Since 1991 Ronald McDonald House Charities of Nashville has been providing families a warm and supportive “home away from home.” No one has ever been turned away because of a lack of funds. Share A Night helps ease one of a family’s burdens while they have a sick child.
