Decades ago, families slept in hospital waiting areas and, in their cars, to be near their hospitalized child. In 1991, the doors to the original 16-bedroom Ronald McDonald House opened and lessened some of the emotional, physical, and financial hardships these families faced, fulfilling our mission of “keeping families close” and providing the care and resources they need when going through the crisis of having a sick child.
Our House is built on the simple idea that nothing else should matter when a family is focused on the health of their child – not the affordability or accessibility of where to stay, access to meals, or where they will lay their heads at night to rest.
Since 1991, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Nashville has continued to provide families a warm and supportive “home away from home.” Families are never turned away due to their inability to pay. Share A Night helps a family’s financial burdens while they have a sick child by underwriting the cost of a night’s stay at $15 a night.
Your generosity allows RMHC of Nashville to continue providing housing to thirty- six families each night, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Thank you so much for your support!
Parents don’t know when their children will need medical help. But they should know they can always access the care they need. And with your help, we can support them all throughout their journey.
