Families Are Stronger When They Are Together

Our House is open 365 days a year, 24 hours a day and is supported by seven full-time staff members and over 200 active volunteers. Our House is a home, providing hot meals, laundry facilities and a place to rest. It has all the benefits of a house, including a playroom, teen game room, a library, two kitchens and a large dining room. The House provides an environment of emotional support from staff members, volunteers and other families who are going through similar circumstances.

How to Stay With Us

We welcome you to learn more about staying with us at RMHC of Nashville by reviewing the information below. Please note families must be referred by a social worker at a local Nashville-area hospital to stay with us, and a background check form is required along with all guest applications. Review all stay requirements and frequently asked questions below.

Families must be referred by a social worker at a local Nashville-area hospital. A referral is not a reservation. RMHC of Nashville staff makes room assignments based on room availability, severity of diagnosis, and distance traveled.

Families with critically ill children, 18 years or younger, receiving inpatient or outpatient medical care at a Nashville-area hospitals who live 40 miles from the Nashville Ronald McDonald House.

As a non-profit, we value the safety of the families we serve, our staff members, and our volunteers.  We are committed to taking prudent measures to safeguard people and assets from potential harm.  Therefore, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Nashville, TN, Inc. (RMHC) has implemented a policy requiring criminal background checks for all staff members, volunteers, and Guest Applicants, who are at least eighteen years of age.

It is the responsibility of the prospective family to inquire about room availability by calling the Nashville Ronald McDonald House twice a day, starting on the day the family needs the room.  Suites are available for bone marrow, stem cell, and heart transplant patients.

Families who have children being treated at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt will have access to a weekday shuttle. Check with the House Manager or Volunteers for scheduling and operation. All other families of Nashville-area hospitals are responsible for their own transportation.

The cost to stay with us is $15 per night, but no one is turned away due to their inability to pay. We accept cash, check, and all major credit cards.

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Nashville has 36 bedrooms, each with a private bathroom. Each room is supplied with linens, toiletry items, and cleaning supplies. The House also includes two fully stocked kitchens, a dining room, a laundry facility, two playrooms and a library, as well as several living room spaces equipped with TVs & DVD players. Suites may be available for post-transplant outpatients (bone marrow, stem cell, and heart) and their family.

 

A maximum of 4 people are allowed in each room due to Fire Code. Only one room is given PER family unit.

 

Residents at the House may have up to FOUR visitors at a time. Visiting hours are between 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. daily. All visitors must sign in at the front desk and be accompanied by the resident at all times. All visitors must abide by the House rules. Residents of the House are responsible for their visitors.

 

Residents can receive mail while staying at the Nashville Ronald McDonald House. This includes deliveries from USPS, UPS, FedEx, as well as Amazon. For food deliveries, residents must meet their driver outside to receive their delivery. Our address is 2144 Fairfax Avenue, Nashville, TN 37212.
