Taste of Home

As with everyone else, we are monitoring the fast-changing facts and information regarding the COVID-19 virus with great concern. We have made the decision to suspend ALL volunteer activity and non-essential staff & guests to RMHC of Nashville until further notice. This includes our meal groups who so graciously provide meals for guest families each night. We would be grateful for your support in helping us continue to meet the unique needs of our families.

In order to accomplish this goal, we have launched a new program, ‘Taste of Home’. This program relies on generous support from RMHC meal groups, restaurant partners, and people like YOU! Your donation or discounted catering pricing of dinner for our guests will enable us to continue providing the highest quality of care for them and allow their sole focus to be on the health and care of their child.

We are grateful to you for your help while we all navigate this difficult time.

If you aren’t currently scheduled to provide a meal for families, please contact our House Manager – Family Services, Chelsea, at 615-343-4000 or Chelsea@rmhcnashville.com to learn what dates/times meals are needed.

There are a variety of ways to provide ‘A Taste of Home’!

Cater-a-Meal – Volunteer meal groups can provide a meal for our families by catering through a local restaurant, and having it delivered or dropped off at the House. Click here for a list of breakfast, lunch, and dinner options that are family-favorites.

Sponsor-a-Meal – Volunteer meal groups can provide a meal for our families through our Taste of Home program. You can make a donation to the House and our House Operations Coordinator will take care of the ordering and delivery/pick up. Click here to make an online donation.

Gift Cards – Volunteer meal groups can provide a meal for our families by donating fast-food and restaurant gift cards for single-family use. You can have them mailed, dropped off at the House, or sent to the House via our Amazon Wish List. Any amount is appreciated! Click here for a list of nearby restaurant locations.

Grocery Donation – Volunteer meal groups can help stock our refrigerator and pantry by making an online donation towards a grocery purchase and our House Operations Coordinator will take care of the purchasing. Click here to make an online donation.

Dump ‘n’ Go – Volunteer meal groups can provide a meal for our families by purchasing the ingredients for a one-pot crockpot recipe, dropping the ingredients off at the House, and House Staff will take care of the one-pot crockpot meal. Click here for a suggestion list of one-pot breakfast, lunch, and dinner ideas, and click here to visit our Pinterest page full of fun slow cooker recipes!

Homecookin’ – From your stove to our House – finally, meal groups can whip up delicious home recipes for our families with our new option. Volunteer meal groups can provide a meal for our families by cooking any meal their chef heart desires and drop it off at the House during your scheduled meal date and time.

Cook Out – As a way to provide a meal for our families and to allow our volunteer meal groups to actually cook for our families, we came up with a new option of allowing groups to use the Nashville Ronald McDonald House’s outdoor gas grill. With this new option, volunteer meal groups can provide a meal for our families by purchasing the necessary pre-packaged ingredients needed for your “cook out” meal and bringing them to the House during your scheduled meal date and time.
